Friday Finish

WooHoo my first Linky !  I am doing the happy dance.  Please leave me a comment.  So happy you visited me today.

Have been working this week to get back to normal.  So many things have happened since we arrived home from Alaska; a friend's wife passed away suddenly, two parents had surgery and my husband's employer, Coca Cola, has decided to close the Peru Plant.  Hahaha....do we really know what normal is?

Back in my studio this week working on customer quilts.  The first quilt is a cheater quilt.  I used a yard of flannel fabric with printed blocks on it and a cute print on the back.

I stitched a farm animal pantograph in a gold thread.

I used a light weight batting such as Hobbs 80/20 in the middle.  The binding is a cute black and white check, as the check is also in the flannel backing.    This was a quick project to help my son's girlfriend, Nora.  She is a broke college student and her friend is pregnant.  So we agreed this would be a nice shower gift.

Still on my longarm quilting machine is a lap quilt that is a flag.  I am using Glide gold thread that appears to be metallic but is just a polyester thread with shine.  Doesn't Old Glory look great with a little bling!  The quilting design is called Star Spangled.

Hope you have a great weekend.  I am headed down to my studio to finish this quilt so it can go home on Monday.

Tomorrow's blog will be on decorating with quilts for fall.

Yours in quilting,
Terry

  2. Beautiful quilt. It is hard to beat a black and white binding. They make colours dance. I am sure the new Mum to be will love it. Nice quilting too. Thanks for sharing.....Marie (mlismore@optsunet.com.au)
