Washington Tornado and How You Can Help

I won't be sewing or working WIPs today as I am headed down to Washington, IL to help a family salvage what we can of their home.

If you want to help.  Peddler's Way, the local Washington quilt shop posted these comments as follows.

Quilts = Caring

How You Can Comfort The Victims of The Tornado
We all need to do what we do best. Make a quilt to comfort someone and let them know we care. The community of Washington is in need of all the comfort it can get! Many of you have asked how you can help. If you would like to   donate a finished quilt, a finished pillowcase or a new bed pillow, please send them to our store at 127 Peddlers Way, Washington, IL 61571. We will work with local churches and relief organizations to get them Into the arms of those who need them.  Please label your quilt so that the recipient will know who to thank for the generous gift. The Washington Chamber of Commerce has on their Facebook page a list of other items that you could include that would be helpful to the victims of this disastrous event. Hopefully it will not be but a couple more days until we can get to the store. Please considered bringing in your donation when we are able to reopen or ship it to us.
Here is a list of items requested for donations:
-Sleeves of Plastic Bags
-Plastic Totes with Lids
-Reusable Canvas Bags
-Blankets
-New Underwear and Socks (all sizes men, women, and children)
- Coats and Clothes All Sizes (men, women, and children)
-Snacks
                                    -Gas Cards

Thank you in advance for your donations and help.

Today I have linked with Freshly Pieced.

Yours in quilting,
Terry

    1. Thank you. I felt honored to help. Pictures just don't do it justice. It is suppose to get colder and snow so that is not going to help.

    1. Thank you for your offer. I would greatly appreciate another quilt. Please contact me at quiltcrazie@msn.com to make arrangements. Things are at a stand still in Washington. They received at least six inches of snow overnight. Many people are still living in hotels while waiting on insurance adjusters to make decisions.
