Bonnie Challenge - Future Giveaways

Ok ladies, I made slightly better progress this week than last week.  Last week I completed one block.
This week I completed four!

I have linked up with Jo's Country Junction for the Bonnie Challenge.  There is a group of us trying to finish one of our Bonnie Hunter quilts before the mystery starts on Friday, November 29th.

I have many star point units made but can't finish the corner blocks at this point.  I have to wait until I finish the final layout of the quilt.  Where each block ends up will determine the color used on the corners.  Also, laying in the bottom left corner are a few centers for the court house step blocks.

My sewing buddy, Cathy K., has returned to her sewing room after a vacation.  We have been talking about the Celtic Solstice Mystery colors. Cathy and I don't live in the same town, so we text pictures and comments back and forth  to discuss our quilting projects.
I have pulled these colors from my stash.  They are small in size and just need to be cut up and used up.  There is no doubt I will need to purchase more yardage or fat quarters, but these fabrics have been in and out of the drawers too many times.

I was interrupted while writing my blog post.  Then my mind was distracted and I started digging through more drawers and found these orange to rust scraps.  They really look different in the picture than they do in person.  The scrap on the far right looks gold but it is really a cheddar.

I stopped into Susan's Calico Creations in Fulton, IL.  I picked out the above fabrics to match Bonnie's paint chips.  I have two blues, two greens, two yellows, and two oranges.  I was thinking about giving away two fat quarters, each Saturday for the next three Saturdays in a row.  Can I help add to your fabric stash for Celtic Solstice?  Check back next Saturday, November 16th, become a follower and leave me a comment.  There will be a random drawing on each Monday so I get the fabric shipped out ASAP.

Yours in quilting,
Terry

  2. WOW how different and what fun to make SMM with a totally different palette. It will make joining up the blocks more challenging though, do you have a design wall?

    1. Yes, I have a flannel design wall. I put up a row at a time, audition the stars and then add the HST corners in the right color. I am usually a country colors person. This is a major change for me but love the results.
