Design Wall Monday - World's Largest Film Camera

This weekend wasn't very productive since Friday.  I finished quilting a charity quilt for the Gems of the Prairie in Peoria.  These quilts go to the St. Jude's affiliate at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria. 

 

I did complete a few more star blocks for Amber Waves of Grain by Kaye England.

And one star block working on the Bonnie Challenge on Jo's Country Junction. 

Yesterday I drove to Monroe, WI, about 92 miles north of where I live to see the world's largest film camera.  It will be on display until Nov. 17th on the town square in front of the court house.  This project has been on Dennis' design wall for many years.  Davis Welding's staff  and the Bartels' family were able to take this project from design wall to reality.  This will be part of the 200 anniversary of film and the end of the film era.

Dennis Manarchy and the camera will be traveling the USA for the next two years taking pictures of the many different cultures in the US.  I heard his story yesterday and look forward to seeing the progress of his dream coming to life through documenting the many cultures in America.  This camera was all made by American craftsmen.  You can get more information on facebook at Butterflies & Buffalo.
